Resolving Errors
Errors are the Bill validation errors that are generated through the validation platform in UBM. They usually have an Error Number and the message.

There are two ways to resolve errors:
In bulk, by going to the “Admin” tab and selecting the “Bills” section in the left navigation, and then the “Find Bills” tab.
Here, select at least one bill from the table. The “Bulk Actions” button appears on screen. Select it, and then select “Resolve Errors”.
Once “Resolve Errors” is selected, a dialog will open. Select all the errors that you want to resolve on the selected bills, then select the “Save” button.
Per bill, by selecting a bill, which takes you to the “Bill Details” area for that bill. In here select the “Errors” tab that appears on the right hand side panel.
Depending on the errors that appear for that bill, you can:
- Either select them and select (errors with a checkbox) the “Update” button. You can add a reason to resolving this type of errors by selecting a value from the button that appears when that error is selected.
- Or manually update the bill based on the required error action (errors with an exclamation sign). These errors will disappear from the list once they are solved and the bill is reparsed.
Exceptions: Unmapped Virtual Accounts
A new imported bill in UBM either:
- Flows into existing accounts, if the new bill is a continuation of other already entered bills.
- Generates new Virtual Accounts, if this is the first bill in the chain.
Manual Mapping Required
For the latter, when new Virtual Accounts are created, these need to be manually mapped to locations.
By selecting the “Exceptions” section in the left navigation, and then the “Unmapped Virtual Accounts” tab, you will see a list of all the Virtual Accounts that need to be mapped to locations.
You can manually map each account by selecting the “Map” action that appears at the end of each account row, or go with a bulk mapping, by selecting the “Bulk Map” action present in the top right.
Payment Errors
For easily tracking payment errors, go to the “Admin” section in the left navigation and select the “Errors” tab, then “Payments Error Log”.
This is a log displaying all payment errors generated in the AP file creation. They are displayed here per bill, and mark the reasons for which that bill did not process.
