Audit Report Wizard
The Audit Report Wizard feature serves two major purposes:
- Guiding and supporting you in configuring audit reports using a dedicated wizard
- Displaying a list of already generated reports, allowing for review of settings and re-download of .csv files as needed
Reporting Menu
This section has been reorganized to better serve your needs, offering both statistical emissions reports and those dedicated to annual auditing of emissions. The Reporting menu now includes two primary sections: Sustainability Reports and Audit Reports.
Getting Started
Before utilizing the Audit Reports feature, be sure to upload your carbon emitting assets to the Assets page.
- Login to Constellation Navigator Carbon Accounting
- Navigate to the Assets tab on the left-hand tool bar
- Upload your facilities and vehicles usage data utilizing the available upload templates
Audit Reports page
On this page, all your previously generated audit reports are dynamically displayed in a sortable list. For each report, specific information is displayed, and a detailed settings page can be accessed using the View Report Settings action.
If you are the Admin on your account, you can see all reports generated on the account you are responsible for, regardless of the user who issued them.
Available Actions
- Create Report: Access a smart wizard designed to support you in configuring the audit report.
- View Report Setting: View detailed configuration filters and preview calculated content for audit reports.
- Download: Download the report locally to the Downloads folder. Re-downloads of previously generated reports are available.
- Download for External: Change the targeted audience from internal to external and download the report as an official document. This action is irreversible.
- Delete: Internal reports can be deleted if no longer needed. External reports cannot be deleted, as they are considered official statements.
Note: After you download the report for an external both the “Delete” and “Download for external” options are no longer visible in the “Action” menu for that report.
Audit Report Wizard: Creating a New Report
The configuration wizard aids users in selecting reference data for audit reports and determining the audience.
Reports can only be created if assets and consumption data are recorded in the Carbon Accounting Platform. The wizard involves four steps, ending with generating an audit report in a downloadable .csv format.
Exiting the wizard will lose all previously selected values.
Step 1: Choose Asset Types and Scopes
Select asset types and emissions scopes relevant to the report. The wizard displays matched assets in the Matches found section.
Step 2 - Choose Audience, Time Period, and Granularity
Decide on the audience (internal or external), emissions interval (monthly or annual), and select date range and regions.
Select Emissions interval
Choose the desired reporting interval—monthly or annual. The default setting is annual, but you can select monthly for more detailed reports.
Select Date Range
Only one date range is applied per report.
Note: The “Select all available data” is checked by default. But you can specify custom date ranges using the available calendar
Select Region
Select States and Cities of interest using the dropdown selectors. There can be multiple regions per report.
Select audience
The configuration wizard offers two report options—an unofficial version for internal reviewers (default) or an official version for third-party auditors. The official report serves as the organization's formal statement on emissions. Note that once an official report is generated, it cannot be deleted.
Based on your selections, the number of assets included in the report is displayed in the Matches found section.
Step 3 - Choose Assets
Select specific assets to include in the report. The wizard provides filters to assist in asset identification.
In this step, you can explicitly select the assets you want to include in the report. Also, select all option is available to bypass selecting individual assets.
Note: Be sure to select assets on both the facilities and vehicles tabs if vehicles are in-scope for the audit report.
Step 4 - Preview
Review configurations and make edits if necessary. The report's content summary is available for final verification before generation.
1 - Review report settings - overview of the selected configuration details of the audit report
The “Edit” option will take you back to the specific step of the wizard for reconfiguration.
2 - Preview report - a high-level summary of the data that will be included in the report (csv file)
Step 5 - Generate Report
After confirming report details, generate the report by clicking the Generate Report button, producing a .csv file for download.
Note: Once generated, reports cannot be changed. Alterations in asset data post-report require generating a new report.
